Hope you are all spending a good Christmas break
While I quite frankly don’t believe in the Christian meaning of Christmas, I do like that there is some holidays in this period, which means taking a break (albeit little as many deadlines come up on January) and making us reflect. I am realising this is the last post of 2020. And there are a lot of reflections to be made on this year. Some personal (living those for my paper journal, but I can anticipate that there will be some talk of happiness in 2021), and some more global (one starts with a c...).

What are you passionate about? Ask me that question and the answer would be...water!!
Seas , oceans - maybe even big lakes. I love being on the surface , in the middle, on the coast, underwater . In calm and in stormy conditions. Winter sea has as much of an attraction to me as summer sea. For sure, even in summer, you wouldn’t catch me roasting on a beach, as I will be somewhere exploring (or maybe looking at tiny encrustations on rocks and willing to explain to passers by all about that sponge / barnacle / hydroid / bryozoan ...) Today is December 12th (just in case you didn't open your calendar). Why does it matter? It marks the anniversary of the Paris agreement .
Yeap the same Paris agreement that has been so debated during these last year due to US request of withdrawal and then the promise to rejoin under the Biden administration. The agreement was signed in 2015, and while I am sure most of you reading this will be super familiar with it here is a little reminder of what it is : Have you ever eaten an insect? Was it just by accident while riding a bike or did you purposely do it? As a 'Westener' I wouldn't think of insects when I am planning a meal. I have eaten some once before purposefully (countless times by accident, should learn to stop singing and cycling) and I have to say : it wasn't that bad of an experience! Didn't really taste of much, it was crispy. |
